Join us for a spectacular 10K walk through an amazing part of Medway, where historic landmarks meet modern-day life. Kindly supported by Chatham Maritime Trust, we will set off from the bandstand at the marina, taking in the serene views of the calm waters reflecting the summer sky.

Following the scenic Southeast Coastal Path, you’ll walk along the water’s edge before making your way up through the park, enjoying nature’s beauty as the path winds back down, revealing breathtaking views of the River Medway.

As you continue along the route, you’ll witness the golden hues of the sunset shimmering on the water. Cheered on by our dedicated marshals, you’ll soon see the stunning Upnor Castle come into view. Here, opposite the castle, you will have the opportunity to pause and light a candle in memory of a loved one, creating a truly special and reflective moment.

Your journey continues along the backdrop of Rochester Cathedral and the castle, past Chatham Marina and the historic Dockyard Distillery before heading through the nightlife of Chatham Dockside. As you walk under the bridge and begin the second loop, the night will have fallen, and your glow sticks and illuminated headpieces will light up the path, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. Passing by the memory area once more, you’ll see the candles glowing in unison, a truly magical and humbling sight.
