Hangar Book Volunteer
We’re looking for friendly volunteers who can help support our resident book volunteer Richard. Helping sorting books and to maintain the book library. You will be helping to sort through all the donations that come in on a daily basis. Helping the team to make sure a good flow of stock and donated items is distributed throughout all our shops and eBay if you find any rare editions!

Skills & Abilities:
Ability to follow instructions and respond quickly to requests in order to perform duties.
Good general health, since the role requires the moving of heavy and bulky items. Frequently carrying goods up and down stairs and standing for long periods of time.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Ability to work well as part of a team but to take individual decisions when necessary.
Ability to be around people in distress and remain calm.
Ability to be respectful and kind towards all, being mindful of their individual needs and being supportive towards those who may have additional challenges, such as sensory or physical impairment or a long-term condition.
Experience & Knowledge:
Familiarity with hospice philosophy.
A keen interest in contributing and participating in local community services.
Requirements:
Minimum commitment of 6 months.
Respect of others’ beliefs and points of view.
Respect and maintain confidentiality.
Commitment to adhere to Wisdom Hospice Charity policies and values and the ability to apply awareness of these to all areas of volunteering role.
Ongoing commitment to supervision.
